2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 duff (5483) - St, Margarets, - OCT 22, 2003
This was kinda interesting, if a bit dull. The mouthfeel is quite watery, yet, toasty caramelly malts come through, aswell as some light fruit (i was thinking either apples or pears). Slightly honeyed. With a dry, salty finish. Pretty easy to drink, definitely "light" but in a not so boring way. Simple, but nice.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 davidm (1370) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - SEP 17, 2011
Bottle 750ml. Great hop balance. Aromas of burnt caramel, cola, and citrus. Taste has a sweet start, with bitter notes, and long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, cloudy, with no head.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - APR 5, 2009
Bottle (750ml). Poured amber/bronze with a loose , off-white, rocky head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was of sweet malts, brewing cereal, pears and dried apricots. Flavor was a mild bitterness with notes of sweet bread, pears, hints of peaches and slightly rubbery finish. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation, a dry/rustic mouthfeel and an average length finish.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 bluevegie (2930) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAR 15, 2008
Same honey coloured body but with a better looking head. Essentially very similar to the Gold, smoother flavour making it a little easier to drink. Maybe a little house flavours in all these beers.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Linc (736) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - NOV 25, 2005
Nice clear copper colour. Metallic aroma, Stink Of Ringwood, diacetyl. Flat, buttery and rather uninteresting malty flavour, a little of that Ringwood bitterness. Thin with a metallic finish. Shouldn’t be this old tasting the day it’s bought from the brewery.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lunkie (1129) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - SEP 13, 2005
Malt aroma. Cloudy murky orange brown colour. Smooth malt flavour with bitter aftertaste. Smooth palate.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Sully (1378) - Potts Point, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA - MAR 29, 2005
The bottle had been sitting around for a while and so it beckined me to open it. Typical Aussie beer colour and presentation in the glass followed u by the usual lack of real aroma. The POR is clearly there and as it isn’t an aroma hop there was nothing more than a bit af brackish afterburn. Clearly an attempt to repicate the good old aussie brew and as a result a disappointment.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 vanvenlo (852) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - JUN 28, 2004
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2005 3 April 2004 - (Re-rate at Goulburn Brewery) Light malty and hop pleasant aroma. Cloudy copper-red liquid with small light beige head and reasonable lacing. Slight fruit roast hop malt and a Pride of Ringwood hop bitterness that puts one off, with some lingering fruit. Clingy Pride Of Ringwood hop roof of the mouth finish and a bit thin. Overall - Needs a bit more malt or hop complexity. (Re-rated under observance of the proprietor)
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Choos (507) - Taylors Hill, AUSTRALIA - APR 3, 2004
Aroma, malt with a hint of roastiness. Appearance small bubbly head and dark that blond murky brown, quite ugly but gets points for the huge bottle with stopper. Flavour, hint of roastiness that was completely overpowered by pride of ringwood hop bitterness. Toward the end I think I was detecting a small amount of maltiness. Thin mouthfeel but not too heavily carbonated (though it could have been the commul flagon bottle that was flatter by the time it got to me). Overall the pride of ringwood spoils what might have otherwise been a good beer.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Spanner (60) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - FEB 13, 2004
Explodes on the palate and even tastes like gunpowder. All in a handy 3 litre keg-like tanker.
Spanner.
