Nice head, non homogeneous foam. Deeply red, hazy.
Nice sweet nose, caramel, citrus.
Disappointing unnuanced flavour. No symphony. Just sweet, then a long weak bitterness.
The palate is boring. It looks carbonated but feels absolutely flat.

Aroma is rather malty with some raisins and ripe fruits. Flavour has lots of sweet malt, some raisins and dark, ripe fruits. A bit harsh finish. A bit weird Barley Wine – not in a good way.

Denmark, September 2009. Deep red with a small but firm head. Sweet malty, fruity hops, lots of alcohol. Rather sweet with a hoppy background, but the alcohol taste is quite harsh. Pretty unbalanced and not that enjoyable.

Brown with light brown head - malty aroma - good malt body, with hints of raisins, and some hints of warming alcohol - nice

@ Copenhagen festival 2011. The aroma has caramel, fruits, sugar. Dark red-brown coloured beer with a slight off-white head. The taste is sweet, caramelic, bit fruity.

Pours clear dark amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits and alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Dark amber color with a medium sized head. Roasted, caramel aroma. Flavor is in good ballance. Fruity with quite a lot of alcohol. Good barleywine.

Donkerbruin bier met cremekleurige schuimkraag, die snel verdwijnt. Smaak zoet, port, niet complex.

Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with a tan head. Aroma is caramel malt and whiff of alcohol, with a hint of hops. Flavor is strongly of sweet caramel malt, on the burnt-sugar side of the spectrum, with a decent amount of relatively nondescript balancing hops, and hint of alcohol. Not sure what to make of this. Not bad, but doesn’t stand out.

Bottled. Pours clear, deep amber with a little off-white head. Fair lacings. Nose of cramel, dark fruitand perfumed hop notes. Full bodied, syruptexture and soft carbonation. Sweet flavour of caramel, alcohol and notes of dark fruit. Ends up more dry with alcohol and bitter notes.
