COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Mountain Stout is brewed to be enjoyed together with chocolate deserts or coffee. Dark roasted beans from the worlds best coffee - Blue Mountain - together with bitter chocolate, gives the beer its complexity in aroma and flavor - that coffee and chocolate lovers love.

(Draught at Københavnske Øldage). Let me first state that I’m not a big fan of coffe stout. This, however is a big exception. The aroma is slightly sour fruity coffee and cocoa like a fine criollo chocolate and arabica coffee. Very balanced flavour with caramel and toffee malt and slightly burnt roasted chocolate. Slightly spicy. Palate is soft and clean with a rounded bitter aftertaste.

[Bottled at Købehavnske Øldage] Very dark brown, airy head. Cocoa aroma. Really dry with clean mouthfeel. Plenty of smooth coffee and roasty malt. Fairly bitter finish with a touch of ink. A most solid effort.

pivo (2556) - GERMANY - MAY 12, 2006
Roasted malt, light hop. Opaque color, sticky spongy head. Bittersweet chocolate flavors, coffee bitter end that turns to charcoal. Medium body. Big tastes, bold, maybe too thin, but otherwise an excellent beer.

Dalle (1145) - Skørping, DENMARK - APR 30, 2006
Bottle. Dark borwn with lasting head. Roasted malts (roated coffee beans?) and liqoruice dominate from start to finish, quite full flavored, little tar-ish. Gourmetbryggeriet is getting better and better (also at achieving the right carbonation imo).

Bottle. Brown long lasting head. Almost black blody. Lovely liqorice aroma. Smooth coffee choccolate flavor, not sweet, not really bitter.

JorisPPattyn (7877) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - APR 17, 2006
Deep dark brown with an orange shine; huge, fluffy yellowish head. Dark malts, very perfumey, a bit of soy sauce - Japanese, I’d say - or... nut syrup? Taste is cigarette ash, bit of dry chocolate malts, underbrush flavours. It’s more complex than I can express, because very discreet. Ends sweet, and roasted. Medium to well-bodied. OK stout. Won’t deplace mountains, but deserves its place.

Papsoe (25088) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 12, 2006
(Bottle 33 cl) Clear and very dark brown with a warm, reddish glow and a creamy, light brown head leaving a neat lacework. Aroma - oddly - mostly of alcohol. Full-bodied with notes of chocolate and burned malt, while the coffee is strangely subdued in this bottle. Distinct ashy edge (like licking an ashtray....) but not really very bitter. 100406

madsberg (10142) - Søborg, DENMARK - APR 2, 2006
Bottled: Dark brown red colorued. Light brown dense head. Light coffee and light roasty nose. Has som quite grassy ntes. Flavour of roast, initial mild coffee and light fruit. The initial mild coffee notes transform into a very strong and hard coffee dominance, that last all through to the end. Quite amazing, but a bit onedimensional. Is very coffeebitter in the end. LIke when you make a very strong cup of coffee.

Bottled. Black appearance. No real head on this beer. Fortunately the coffee in this beer is quite obvious. Quite dry finish. A good beer.

MrWalker (926) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 20, 2006
Bottle @ Ölbaren, Copenhagen
Roasted malts in aroma, with a hint of soft coffee. Has got a strange fruity taste to it and is a bit sharp. Coffee notes are medium.
