75 cl bottle. Thanks to my friend Mike. Great black colour with a dense light brown head. Great aroma of redwine, roastedness, sweet malt and little alcohol. Very nice flavour of sweet roastedness, chocolate, vanilla, little alcohol and hints of oak and wine. Very nice mouthfeel and a roboust body. This one is a master piece, thanks Mike.

bager (2121) - Copenhagen N, DENMARK - MAR 2, 2008
Blind tasting - hand bottled. Pitch black in colour with a small but dense brown head. Very well balanced and complex - notes of coffee, chocolate, dried dark fruits and a somewhat woody dryness. Also a hint of vanilla.

Bottle at the RBESG 2012 Grand Tasting, London. Vintage 2006. Pours opaque black-brown with a medium tan head. Huge dark, ripe fruit nose with some chocolate notes. Very sweet flavor with tangy dark malts, mild roast, and chocolate syrup. Full bodied with fine to medium carbonation. Bit of warmth in the finish. Lingering roast with mild wood and oak notes, and plenty of mocha. Great stuff.

Black with a lasting dark brown head. Aroma has a strong oak and roast malt and a little vanilla. Dry and roast flavour, with a lot of malt. Ends with red wine-like tannins in the finish.

A Mes rate. Bottle opened at Lahore Kebab House, HUGE thanks to Jan and Charlotte.
Woooooo this is a good one. Pitch black pour with a very good tan head. Massive chocolate goodness, superb liquorce, slight soy and oxidisation plus a truck load of bourbon barrel madness that, for all it’s massiveness is not overpowering the awesomeness in the background. Utterly glorious hints of coconut and vanilla that sit so well along side the roasted coffee character. Sublime creamy chcolate throughout. The finish is just bloody amazing. A huge smack in the mouth that contains everything I have just mentioned and eventually settles on a lasting bitter coffee that just goes and goes. Bloody excellent beer all round.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2009 Tasted @ EBF 2008. Almost opague. Cream, licorice and a hint of oak in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with licorice, cream and raisin. Quite likeable. (3.8) Bottle, shared @ jbrus’s place. 2006 vintage. I had to boost the rating a bit, because this beer, given more time to savour and enjoy is much better than I thought @ the EBF. Dark chocolate, whisky and dried fruit in the aroma. Dark chocolate, licorice, dried fruit and salt in the flavor. Just hints of butter and whisky. The alcohol is well hidden. Sticky mouthfeel. Very well balanced, excellent beer.
