It feels like a burning tongue, maybe it’s the dark malt or alcohol moderation. Very malty beer with the same roasted flavor all way throug.

Kriegbaum (699) - Randers, DENMARK - MAY 29, 2011
Bottle 75 cl. with cork stoppers. Dark brown with a red tinge. Small off white head. Scent of hard rest, almost roasted malt, caramel and orange. The taste is slightly sweet and slightly bitter at the same time. The taste bear the imprint of the very hard roasted malt. Indefinable but not pleasant aftertaste.

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 23, 2011

(Draught@Pikkulintu, sampled 2009-12-02) Murky dark reddish brown with a small head. Fruity nose with yeast and some spices. Quite spicy and smooth flavor with yeast. A nicely clean, Belgian-style Xmas brew.

larsga (4675) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 23, 2010
Medium light brown head. Hazy dark red body. Fruity spicy roasty wooden aroma with toffee and chocolate notes. Dry-sweet chocolatey spicy wooden taste with roasty alcohol notes. Mid-bodied. Dry, faintly astringent, earthy wooden chocolate aftertaste with spicy oranges notes. Nice, but maybe a bit cloying. (0.75l bottle, gift.)

Keg (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Winter beers 2009)
Deep red, smalll keggy head. Caramelly aroma, some roastiness too. Fairly slidgy palate. Pleasant carbonation, but a bit sharp on the tongue when combined with the biting taste. Over-spiced and just too sludgy.
