Bottle 66 cl. Pours reddish-brown with a medium to big off-white bubly head. Sweet, spicy aroma with notes of malt and honey. Sweet, malty flavor with notes of caramel, fruits and spices.

Tap. Deep chestnut colored beer with a diminishing brown head. The aroma is sweet, dark fruity and spicy. Taste is sweet malty with quite some caramel and notes of plums, brown sugar, chocolade leading to a mellow finish with a harsh dash of nutmeg, that gets a bit annoying after a few sips. Medium body, soft carbonation.

26-JUL-2011, botte(s) @home. I taste the 2009 and 2010, side by side. The 2009 has spend most of it’s live in the fridge whereas the 2010 has lived in my "beer cellar". Clear brown with beige head. Loads of honey here. Spicey and sweet. Charamel, honey, and sweetness. The quite high alcohol level gives the beer a fine body with low carbonation making it very easy drinking. The 2009 is fresher and cleaner than the 2010 indicating that storage conditions in my "cellar" are somewhat short of perfect. :(

Dark brown colour. Light head. Flavour of cinnamon and nutmeg. Good pleasant christmas beer.

Würziger Antrunk, mild und kräuterartig. Auf mildem Niveau wird das Malz vollmundiger, auch die Kräuternote nimmt zu und wird hefig. Leicht bitter, minimal nach Zimt, im Abgang malzig-herb, weiterhin eher mild. Zu keinem Zeitpunkt wirkt das Bier intensiv, alles bewegt sich auf einem mildem Level. Harmonisches Weihnachtsbier dem eine intensivere Würze nicht schaden würde. Test vom 27.9.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,8,7,7,6,7 - 7,10

Clear red brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, spicy and honey. Flavor is rather sweet. Light bodied. Soft and sweet finish. 191110

Flaske 50 cl. Mørkebrun hælde med lille rubin rødelig skær. Lille off-white hovede som hurtigt forsvinder. Aroma og smag er sødelig krydderet, med noter af malt og nødder. Sødelig afslutning med en velafbalenceret tør og let bitter humle finich.

Fra flaske, dufter syrlig, sød honning, fremstår meget mørke gylden med svagt lysebrunt skum, smager syrlig med en lidt sød smag af honning, næsten ingen fylde...ialt efter min smag er den under middel.

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark maghony, fast dimishing offwhite head. Looks a little dull after the head is gone. Nose is malt, cinnamon and other spices. Taste is sweet at first, some caramel, malt, cinnamon, then some bitternes from hops and spices, slight alchohol finish. Medium body, flat carbonation, dry finish, good balance. Decent, not sterotyped xmas brew. 101121

600ml bottle (Kitty’s, Helsinki) - had in april, so with several months of ageing on it
6 sweet cakey aroma, molasses, light cake spice.
4 Very deep orange, small ring head.
7 Sweet cakey retronasals, rich roasty body, plenty of molasses. Some metallic hops.
4 Pleasant carbonation. Sweet, but still quite crisp. Leaves the mouth quite tingly, not sure if that’s the alcohol, the spices, the carbonation or the hops - all are candidates, but none stick out too much - very well balanced
15 Thank god this is not another boring stereotyped xmas beer. Spices, while clear, are not dominant and caricatured. Balanced and dare I say it, sophisticated. I’m pretty sure it was the extra ageing that mellowed this, I would expect it to be more raw and sweet younger.
