chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Jul 20, 2007 Bottle at Kobehavnske Oldage, May 2006. Orangey yellow appearance. Rather murky. Looked rather like pineapple juice. Estery tropical fruit and banana aroma. Same in the flavour. Very fruity. Light mouthfeel. Distinctly American in style for a Saison - that is estery and fruity without too much of the farmyard character that often appears in Belgian Saison and, for me at least, provides much of the appeal. This one is rather too clean and sweet for my taste.
fonefan (4871), Ulfborg, Denmark Aug 22, 2006 Draught @ Københavnske Øldage 2006. Hazy golden colour with a small white head. Spicy fruity aroma with some hints of yeast. Sweet malty spicy flavor. Long sweet spicy aftertaste. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jul 28, 2006 Draught@Københavnske Øldage. Hazy orange colour. Typical slightly peppery/spicy saison, with a soft yeasty character, and some citric fruit. Some subtle acidity. Quite nice. yngwie (3602), Kristiansand, Norway Jun 23, 2006 On tap at Cph Beerfestival. Yellow-orange, hazy beer with some white bubbles around the rim. Yeasty aroma with a bit sourness, spices, fruits and some candy-like notes. Apple, citrus, banana-notes and hops in the flavor. Dry finish with banana and some spiceyness. Medium, lightly sticky body. The alcohol is hidden, so be careful. (060519) Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 10, 2006 A hazy orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty and yeasty with some lighter notes of spices. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of oranges, as well as lesser notes of spices, where anise and peber are most distinctive. Nice beer for the style and the brewery.
