oh6gdx (8798), Vasa, Finland Feb 2, 2008 Bottled. Golden colour with mediumsized white creamy head, lacing. Aroma is fruity, slightly yeasty, grassy and mildly earhty. Also some mild notes of sweet alcoholic notes. Flavour is fruits, earth, some grassyness as well as herbs and mild spices. The alcohol doesn’t show that much in the flavour, but does give a very big warming feel when going down the throat. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 31, 2008 Had the pleasure of sampling this at the 1/27/2008 Pittsburgh ratebeer.com gathering and festival upstairs, Sharp Edge Creekhouse. It will be a long time, if ever I am invited again and I see a spread of bottles like I did there - ever again. I am not good enough for the beers that were that we sampled! For example, how about this beer; GOLLIATH, thanks Ryan! Sweetish aroma, typical of trippels, perhaps some tartness on the olfactory. Cloudy pale yellow. Goodly carbonation. Enjoyable bubbliness for a trippel. Rather strong on the palate. Alky personality is not well hidden, it is confident. Overall, quite a decent palate for a trippel. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 30, 2008 Sampled at the RBPG; bottle courtesy of Ryan. Light fruity nose, yeasty with banana bread and a mild spicy nuttiness. Cloudy pale dull amber-white, with a thin head. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Banana bread taste, with yeast chalkiness and mild floral spice. Vanilla pudding. A little bit soapy? Not bad. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 28, 2008 A decent middle of the road tripel. Aroma of light fruit (apple/pear). Pour was a nice light gold with a 2 finger white head. Taste was very fruity and sweet. Like a fruit cup with carbonation and an alcoholl burn. Decent carbonation and a nice bitey yeasty aftertaste. A good suprise. zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA Jan 28, 2008 Bottle sampled at the Ratebeer meet-up 01.27.08 at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse. Beer courtesy of Ryan.
Opaque gold, white head. Aroma is fuzzy kiwi, tangerine, slight fizzy Sweet Tart. Flavor is the same but not as sweet. wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Nov 21, 2007 Shared with Sean at Pizza Port bottle shop. Cool bottle. Very popular and sells quickly (because of cool bottle). Yellow 1 finger small-to-microbubble head. Some corriander in the aroma. Taste is sweet. Some hop bitterness. Well balanced. Maybe some orange peel bitterness. Drinkable, but not super drinkable. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Nov 12, 2007 Draft at Monk’s Cafe, Philadelphia. Hazy yellow-orange with a thin whispy head. The aroma is sweet banana creme. The flavor has more of a spicy edge, warming to the palate. Still a sweet base, with a bit of bubblegum twist. Good Belgian. (#3187, 11/9/2007) 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Nov 9, 2007 Bottle: Pale caramel, dirty, thick and hazy, large frothy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Musty and barnish malt nose.
Very minor herbish and floral notes.   Seems hearty, more bready than floral.   Somewhat comes across as an American example.
Fairly sweet on the tongue.   Has a weird astringent twang on the backside.   Body and mouthfeel are fairly moderate.   Slight
alcohol is noticeable.   Tiz okay, but wished for it to be a bit more floral.   Other than that, fairly average for a Tripel.
