Maverick34 (690), New York, USA Jul 1, 2007 Updated: Mar 24, 2008Draft. Not too shabby, Pours ambery with a bit of head. Lots of fruit & spice. Not the greatest tripel but not bad. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 26, 2007 Sampled with stegosaurus. Pours a light orange color with a 1 finger head white head. Aroma of sweet malt, fruity hops yeast and some spices. Flavor isweet and tangy with a very dry bitter finish. Overall a good tripel. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jun 11, 2007 Bottle (330ml). Via trade with Boutip. Deep bright gold, very clear until I poured some yeasties from the sludge at the bottom, very large white fluffy head. Aroma of alcohol, pungent grassy hops, a hint of apple - very grainy. The taste follows - very grainy, tons of pungent grassy hops, solid malt (not very sweet) base, strong alcohol, very lively indeed, some yeast in the finish - quite a kick, perhaps too much. Strong golden more than a tripel, enjoyable but not exactly subtle. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA Jun 10, 2007 This was actually the first Tripel I have ever tasted. It was part of BOM club. The beer pours a cloudy light amber color with a huge head. The scent was light and fruity with yeast and malt. Medium body with a crisp malt finish. There was a hint of honey and dough. Tmoney99 (4663), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 22, 2007 Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured hazy amber color with a huge fizzy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate sweet fruity aroma. Light to medium body with a sticky texture. Medium fruity crisp flavor with a medium balanced finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a good beer. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA May 18, 2007 Bottle sampled with Beerded one. Pours blush/golden with a small white head. Aroma of fruit, sweet malts, belgian yeast, and spices. The flavor is smooth, sweet, honey, nice hoppy undertones. Good brew. probstk (1011), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Apr 10, 2007 33 cl bottle via Lubiere, cellar temp, tulip glass. AP04/07.
App.: Cloudy, deep golden with brownish hues, large fluffy white head.
Aroma: Bread, dough, and dirty yeast; light spicy citrus notes, lots of spicy floral, herbal hops.
Palate: Medium, powdery body, low, effervescent carbonation.
Flav.: What seems to me to be the “typical” Belgian bitter and still cloying sensation; floral hops, coriander and other spices, bread dough, yeast, honey and citrus.
I drank this AFTER Pannepot. My bad. I’ll re-rate if I get a chance (not that I’ll look for one too fervently...) goozen (1061), Leiden, Netherlands Apr 7, 2007 Bottle 0,33ltr: Good Tripel with a lightly citric taste and some other spices i think coriander.
