ARMed (485), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 6, 2009 This i undoubdtedely one of the better triples. Great robust flavor (abundantly hoppy and cistrus Belgium brew). Good lemony citrus flavor that has a strong flavor. Would like to drink this brew with a great salmon dinner. nuplastikk (1161), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 6, 2009 75oml bottle, uncorked. Thick golden-orange color, with a patchy foamy head. Sweet and rich, with a pleasant edge to it. Certainly a lot more hop character than your typical Belgian Tripel, which works quite well in this case. Sweet yeasty aroma laced with alcohol. This is definitely a slow sipper, between the alcohol, sweetness, and bitterness, there is a lot to take in. Not unlike a Tripel version of Orval in some respects. This is a classic, would love to have it on tap. obxdude10 (1547), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA May 29, 2009 This wasn’t the greatest tripel I’ve sampled, but still offered some good flavor. It poured a bright golden color with an off-white head. The aroma featured lots of bready flavors with some fruits and slightly spicy notes. The body was smooth and contained flavors of bread, grains, light hops, citrus. The finish was spicy, a bit dry and quite hoppy. MoritzF (4863), Bochum, Germany May 25, 2009 (33cl bottle) Hazy, orange to golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Sweet, slightly grainy and bready malty aroma with subtle fruity and slightly hoppy notes. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Bready and slightly grainy malt-character with light notes of citrus and shades of hops towards the slightly bitter and spicy finish. Not bad but rather boring for a Triple (25.V.09). adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 20, 2009 On draft at Capones. Pours a cloudy vistalite color with a tiny white top. Aroma of honey, fruit, spice and cloves. Taste of honey, orange peel, light spice and cloves. michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA May 18, 2009 Draught at Capone’s: Very faint aroma of grains and spices. Poured orange/gold in color with a medium-sized, creamy, white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Hazy. Not sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is very bland. Tastes of pale malts, slight alcohol, slight spices, and slight honey. Light body. Tingly, lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Grain finish. 9%ABV is well hidden. jmm635 (250), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA May 5, 2009 Cloudy yellow body, white fluffy head. Weak aroma, but I liked the smells. Very citrusy, little bit of yeast, smaller amount of hops. Orange peel on the tongue, couldn’t really get past the really flat, dull palate. Had this on tap, perhaps it wasn’t quite right. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England May 4, 2009 Winter ales festival 09 Manchester. It seems like ages since I had a triple, long overdue. Pretty much golden with a nice white head. Alcohol is certainly detectable but why the hell shouldn’t it be? I like a heavy drink. Nice amount of citrus. Not bad, better triples but also much worse.
