mjs (582), Helsinki, Finland Oct 5, 2008 (Bottle, 0.33 l, at Tuulensuu, Tampere, on 2008-10-04) Golden. Hazy. Small white head. Fruity and sweet nose. Medium bodied palate with some carbonation. Sweetness, bitterness, hops and fruitiness in taste. Long lasting fruity and bitter aftertaste. harrisoni (5382), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 20, 2008 Bottle from Dranken Geers. Hazy gold, no head. Maybe not the greatest version of this beer, really a little flat as a beer, carbonation stings like a bugger, but throws no head. Maybe the bottle fermentation didn’t take well. Very fruity. Not much of the 9% ABV comes through. Very metallic due to over carbonation. PilsnerPeter (1524), Flushing, New York, USA Sep 18, 2008 Bottle: Pours a hazy deep golden with a white head that fades to a strong film. Interesting aroma- vanilla wafers, rubber bands, buttery pale Belgian malts, and white pepper. The carbonation is lively, yet remains creamy. The flavor has a mild sweetness upfront, reminiscent of vanilla wafers. It also has a nice Belgian yeast character which is slightly musty and earthy- which later offers some peppery phenolic character and other various spice notes. Has a nice rounded Belgian pale malt emphasis, with less sweetness than many other Tripels. Pretty solid. JK54B (385), Finland Sep 14, 2008 Hazy pale orange/brown colour. Some hints of honey in the first sip. A dry and bitter aftertaste. Also some maltiness and fruitiness in the taste. Tasted at Pikkulintu.
