dmac (849), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Oct 30, 2007 750 ml bottle purchased at The Oak. Ok so maybe it was partly my fault but when I opened this sucker up GUSHER is not the word. It took both hands pushing a single thumb into the botle to hold the pressurized liquid inside the bottle in order to keep my basement from looking like the set of Titanic. After the bottle settled it poured a nice unfiltered cooper/amber with an average to large creamy white head that disipated but was quickly awokened from it’s slumber up with a few vigorous girations in my snifter. Sweet vinous aroma of green apples, white grapes, yeast, honey and candied sugar. Flavor reminiscent of a white wine with vinous qualities, yeast, fruit and slight wood. Medium body with a slightly dry finish. This is one fine beer.
Yeast and leathery malt in the aroma. Taste has plenty of alcohol and a bit of fruit. Quite a dry finish. Not entirely sure why I didn’t like this much as I thought I would. Somehow it lacked class and star quality. french tickler (494), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Aug 28, 2008 Shared with Pyrozoid @ L’autre Oeil
