It stands for "Fine Illinois Beer," if you wondered. The body’s a deep brownish amber and it has a small yet well sustained ecru head. It’s got an aroma that this hop-head enjoyed, pine, grapefruit, zest of lemon, and a bit of damp soil. The malt squeaks through enough to lend some sweetness to the flavor, but this drink is mainly about the sturdy hop bitterness. The lengthy bitter finish makes me wish that I lived a bit closer to Govnor’s.

Poured in a snifter, this was mahogany-bodied with noticable viscosity under a slight, white head that haloed quickly. Big PNW aroma (Cascade, Amarillo) with harsh citrics & pepper, grapefruit, pine and some clay notes. Full-bodied & smooth with a thinnish-honeylike palate before a dry finish. Malts seem remiss, but there is a touch of sweet to balance the bitters. It retains its bold hop character throughout, which will appeal to all you hop-heads in the area.
