COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian Strong Ale is medium bodied with a spicy, yet fruity aroma. Golden in color, the rich malt and hop flavors are balanced by generous flavors of fresh citrus fruits and spice with characteristics of the yeast dominating.

So not exactally a good belgian strong ale butit will do. Up front there is quite a bit of yeasts and malts in the nose that make it almost fruity. The taste starts out the same with the whole yeasts, malts and fruit character. Towards the middle there is just a bit of hops creating a more fruity grapefruity kind of feeling. The it kind of fades but still finishes kind of grapefruity almost metallic. Not bad but nothing to call home about.

Golden and flat in appearance. Wildflowers in aroma pave the way for sourdough, lemon and sweat. Flavor starts sour, leading to a dry bitterness but finishing with banana and sugar sweetness. Warming to the throat and gullet.

The thing that reminded me most of a Blegian Strong was this beer’s perverse effect on my sensibilities (I wasn’t too impressed with it at the pub, yet I brought home a growler!) Other than the slightly-higher-than-average ABV, I’d be more inclined to say this was simply a "Belgian Ale" or "Belgian Golden". The whole experience is "Yeasts Gone Wild", and some of the flavor attributes seem way off-kilter... but I could see this as sessionable if it mellowed.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2006 I liked this ale, but it’s a strange interpretation of the Belgian Strong Ale. It’s got a light, sweet malt aroma with some citric tartness and mild spices. Quite a thick mouthfeel. Sweet and fruity (mainly oranges and grapefruit from the yeast) with a hint of its sturdy abv, it has some midly hot spicing to it. The finish, strangley, made me feel like I just sipped some grapefruit juice. Tasty.

Rich malty sweetness and some interesting spicing. Strong citrus (lemon) profile as well. Pretty decent drink.
