COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich in flavor and color. Made with Munich malts and a traditional lager yeast. This double (dopple) is made with a little higher alcohol content to keep you warm and fuzzy as the season begins to cool. PROST!!

From the tap this poured a dark chestnut body with a short-lived bubbly tan head. It has a sweet aroma of toasted dark grains blended with creamy caramel candy. The flavor has a light toasty bitterness, some dusty dark caramel, and a touch of grassy/herbal/floral bitterness to balance it all out.
None of which explains the D-O-P-P-L-E spelling.

JMerritt (1602) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - JAN 11, 2008
On tap at the pub, December 2007. Dark red, bordering on black in color. Slightly small, creamy off-white head is mostly lasting throughout the pint. Mild roasty aroma with hints of butterscotch. Mildly roasty moderately sweet flavor with some mild citrusy hop bitterness. Rather thin, watery palate. Next to no alcoholic flavor to speak of, a rather lackluster doppelbock.
