#1026, on tap at the brewery. Very dark brown, thin brown tan head. Nose is strong with malts with some coffee. Taste up front is stong then to more perfume hops. Sweet overall, interesting. Dont recall a brown with this flavor goal.

Very "red" in appearance... like a deep cranberry juice. Quickly headed with a wet, tan froth. Raw, unrefined aroma with cracked grain, sweet chocolate syrup and some pear-based fruitiness. The basis of the flavor is sweet & chocolaty with a hint of coffee bitterness at the finish. Some may consider its sweetness cloying, but it went down easy enough for me.

An interesting drink, pouring a clear neutral brown with a frothy off-white head. It smells of lightly roasted malt, clove, nutmeg, and molasses. The cute mixologist said it just came up today and could tell me little about it except that it was a maple toffee ale. (?) it’s spicy and peppery on the tongue and delivers flavors of sweet toasty malt, spices, and molasses. The Java part of it only seems to come in in the dry finish. Interesting, as I said.
