Rating for Govnors Old Tyme Oatmeal Stout

Pours a blackish-brown, mostly headless and uncarbonated with a trasparency at its edges predicting thinness. Light roasts and dark chocolate in the aroma with a splash of cola. Very thin, pruney and chocolatey flavor (think instant cocoa with too much water). Light dryness with bitter coffee in the finish. Smelled promising but I was left wanting.

A solid, if uninspired, Sweet Stout. It pours a deep black with a creamy brown head. The aroma is mainly lightly roasted barley and barley malts with an underlying sweetness. Very creamy mouthfeel. Sweet, dark caramel dominates the flavor, given an edge by the roasted malt. Surprisingly, it has a dry finish. Not complex, but tasty.
