COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This style is held by some as the beer that built the British Empire. Created in the eighteenth century, Pale Ales continue to dominate the brewing scene world wide. Our traditional English Ale is full bodied, moderately to highly hopped, exhibiting medium bitterness with caramel tones and a strop hop aroma.

On tap at the brewpub. The body was medium copper. The nose was filled with caramel and strong tea. There were also some oranges. The taste was bitter bread crust with a spicy finish. Definitely on the malty side, this was decent.

Had this one on tap in a sampler flight. Golden in color, with a nice hoppy bite. Not overpowering. Not bad.

Had this one on draught at the brewpub. Nice, deep reddish brown color, clear with a fluffy white head. Toasty, sweet nuts in the nose with a bit of rose, a nice hoppy character with sweet chocolate and orange. Finishes clean. Excellent!

Tap at brewery. Pours deep amber with a nice head and lace. Aroma is sweet roasted nut. Flavor is cotton candy, followed by caramel and roasted malt. Palate is a bit restrained but spreads the flavors gradually. The best of the offerings here.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2006 Nice looking drink, a brown-orange body sporting a thick white head. The aroma is toffee and caramel malt with some herbal hopping around the ages. Smooth to drink, the predominant flavor is butterscotch with some light fruits and a bitter hop finish. This would be a decent session ale.

Transparent bronze in color with a thin, off-white head. Muted and glossed over aroma - some hay, caramel, Goldings hops and English toffee. Flavor confirms that this is an English Pale Ale all the way. Some chalky toffee characteristics, moderate bitterness and, overall, is fairly easy going. Moderately enjoyable.
