COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In celebration of American Beer Month, the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild presents the third annual ReplicAle, the same beer recipe brewed by (nearly) all fifteen member breweries. This year’s ReplicAle is Imperial IPA. Bigger, bolder, stronger and with more hop character than your standard IPA, it’s a hop lover’s dream!

Weak and pallid attempt at an IIPA. Mainly one dimensional sweet maltiness, but nothing on the bitteriness scale to balance it against. Not awful but nothing I’d care to repeat soon.

"replicale" was the name of this creation. I didnt realize that this was an IIPA until I looked it up on here. The nose is hoppy and crisp but the guts of the nose is malts and sweetness. The taste is mostly malty with a slight background of hops floating around here and there. I agree with what Cornfield says in that it is just a bit too sweet or doesnt have that kick that you want from a top notch IIPA but hey this was probably the best beer that I have had from Govnor’s.

ICBG Summer BrewFest: This was a drinkable enough brew, but it seemed like more of a lop-sided APA than it was even an IPA, let alone an Imperial. The resinous, piney hopping was present, but mildly so. The sweet malt was there, but pulling out a flavor other than "sweet" was too difficult for me. The finish was blandly uninteresting. But it was drinkable.
