On tap at the Govnors Brew Pub. Poured a dark brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of roast, earhty, and chocolate. Tastes of chocolate, roasty, lighter earthiness, and some coffee. Lacing left on the glass.

On nitro tap at the brewpub. The body was black with a tan colored head. The aroma was sweet milk chocolate with some light coffee. Hate to say it, but it reminded me of Bailey’s Irish Cream in the nose. The taste was light coffee with a baking chocolate finish. A smooth clean finish.

Pour is brownish black with a thin brown head...smell is faint but dry and roasty...taste is strongly roasty with lots of earthy coffee at first, then some sweet cocoa notes provide a little highlight in the finish....

Had this one on tap in a sampler flight. A beautiful opaque black-brown color. Mild flavor with notes of bitter coffee. A good sipping stout.

Tap at brewery. Pours night black with a decent head and lace. Smells like roasted coffee bean with malt and chocolate. Flavor is roasted sugar with a cheap coffee finish. Palate is thin and uninspired. No four leaf clover here.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cornfield (5277) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - SEP 5, 2005
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2006 The aroma of this dark brown, nitroed stout is of roasted coffee and barley with a dab of milk chocolate. It’s thin and mildly bitter in the dry finish, but does manage to deliver some decent roasted flavors and the chocolate steps more to the forefront. Okay.

Decent stout with strong coffee/espresso/chocolate notes but rather thin bodied.

Opaque and deep mahogany in color, yet fairly stagnant in terms of liveliness. Dry dark chocolate and mocha flavored espresso beans principally comprise the aroma, and then a faint trace of barnyard manure creeps into the background. Light, thin and passive. Glides over the palate with flavor accents of watery Hershey syrup and instant coffee grains. A touch too much carbonation, which this brewpub is usually very good at controlling and balancing.

Dark, dark brown with maple syrup highlights, my sample was served with a "bullseye" head... a creamy island of film with a light brown ring. Strong-roasted coffee aroma that stayed on through the flavor with moderate bitterness. Chocolate notes in the short finish. Nitro-creamy and almost-medium bodied.
