3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 hopdog (7053) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 20, 2008
On tap at the Govnors Brew Pub. Poured a medium golden color with a small sized white head. Aromas of vanilla and I was getting sugar cone (the ones you scoop ice cream in) and belgian waffles. Tastes of vanilla and belgian waffles.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Walt (2448) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUN 13, 2008
Pour is clear golden with a thin white head...smell is strongly sweet with vanilla pouring out...taste is lightly toasty grainy and strongly sweet and overpoweringly vanilla...sticky and cloying...
3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Arnie (274) - Chicagoland, IL, Illinois, USA - JUL 21, 2006
Less beer-y, more actually close to Creme Soda than the average Vanilla Creme "ale." I love the smell, hence the high rating. Taste wasn’t bad, and went down easy. Tappped at the ’06 Brew Daze.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 gws57 (1234) - Saint Charles, Illinois, USA - JUL 15, 2006
Had this one on draught at Brew Daze 2006. Straw yellow pour with a strong nose of chocolate and vanilla. Tasted like cream soda. Kind of a "kiddy beer" but I liked it the same.
3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 KAggie97 (3284) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - JUL 12, 2006
Tap at brewery. Pours thin and gold with an aroma of rich vanilla. Tastes like lemon-vanilla ice cream. Palate is watery. A bit more work and this could be quite good.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 drywallman (292) - Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA - MAR 28, 2006
This one had the anemic golden/yellow look, with the shortlived head. Malt wasn’t very noticeable, or the hops. The vanilla was up front and overwhelming. Drinkable, but not for more than one.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 SubstanceT (1092) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - JAN 28, 2006
This is almost offensive to me. But more bothersome is that the waitress actually suggested it to someone in our group. I guess it sells.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cornfield (5277) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - SEP 5, 2005
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2006 The commercial description reads, "Smooth and well-bodied, this golden colored ale has just a hint of vanilla." (I added the emphasis.) The hint of vanilla in the aroma was like snorting a freshly opened bottle of extract. The hint in the flavor was like drinking some cream soda. I rated as high as I did only because cream soda brings back fond childhood memories.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 RAYBOY01 (2005) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 4, 2005
Big fake vanilla extract aroma and flavor...very crudely done. Good creamy texture but not much else going on.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 StewardofGondor (1934) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 18, 2005
Pale whitish-yellow with no movement elsewhere. Aroma is cream soda, white chocolate morsels, crisp lemons and cream puffs. Flavor is 80% cream ale and 20% vanilla syrup sweetener. Some crisp lager-style lemon accents closely followed by a prevailing sweetness of vanilla frosting. Somewhat perplexing but, at the same time, unusually enjoyable.
