2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask at the Bree Louise - London. Pours clear gold with no head. The nose has lots of tangerine - ripe tangerine, that is. Light to medium sweet flavor with some tangy citrus, wood, more hints of tangy fruits, grassy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation; not in optimal shape. Tangy citrus finish with further notes of wood and grass. Not great. The beer is in poor condition.

Very flowery smelling with a touch of caramel. Hazy medium amber appearance. Fruity with a kick of hops and lingers on the back if your throat.

More an ESB than an IPA but nonetheless a very good beer whatever the category. Mid- amber, the aroma is of English (Welsh?) hops and a nice robust palate with a distinct hint of raw alcohol. Dangerously drinkable for its gravity. The pub in which I tried all the Gower beers (The King’s Head, Llangennith) was clearly top-notch for its cellarmanship and whilst it could not make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear, its skill in this direction certainly did the beers no harm at all.

Cask at The King’s Head in Llangennith. Drank gallons of this marvellous beer in Gower. Marmalade and pine. Fantastic.

Excellent bottle. Pours deep golden to orange with very light carbonation. Aroma of oranges and almost a hint of pine. Palate starts bitter but finishes quite sweet; something almost marmalade in the taste. Served cold on a hot day may be sacrilege, but it lost nothing of its hoppiness and was mist welcome.

Cask-conditioned at the South Wales Beeriodical, the Seven Stars, Bristol 8/11/2012. Deep amber in colour with a slight, white head. Aroma of tangerines and grassy hops. Flavour had marmalade and biscuit malts leading to a decent, dryish finish. Excellent.
