(6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Dark brown-black color with a brown head. Aroma is full of dark chocolate and some carob. Flavor has some roastiness, cocoa and hints of carob. Medium to full-bodied, quite syrupy. Decent.

Courtesy Captain Cougar. This was a strange and interesting brew. This one poured a dark brown color with a thin bubbly tan head. This one had interesting aroma of mint, clove, cocoa powder, and bubblegum of all things. The flavor is a good bit funky with the clove, cocoa, and bubblegum all mixing together. There is also some vanilla, oak, and mint chocolate flavors as well. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a weird funky finish. This was a really interesting beer to try. Thanks for bringing this Tom.

Courtesy CaptainCougar. Wow, this is a strange one! The pour is a dark mahogany brown with a small, frothy, bubbly tan head. Random, spotty lacing is left behind on the glass. The aroma is a strange blend of bubblegum, dried cocoa powder, and confectioner’s sugar. It kind of reminds me of a blend of a brown and a pink Neco Wafer! In fact, that is it exactly. This thing smells like a Neco medley. The flavor is an equally unique blend of cocoa, vanilla, woodsy oak, powdered sugar, and some medicinal herbs. This medium bodied brew finishes relatively dry. This is a weird, yet strangely appealing brew. I’d like to learn more about this one.

At Funky Buddha tasting. Black, low carbonation, no head or lacing. Chocolate and cherry liquor with some apples in the aroma. Flavors like chocolate-cherry pie filling. I really liked it.

Bottle… O-Town Christmas Gathering ‘07… Cloudy, pitch black ale with a mid-sized, creamy, everlasting, off-white head. The aroma is of bubblegum and chocolate. Also a bit funky and lightly herbal. Light to medium-bodied and watery with little to no carbonation. Sweet, chocolaty flavor. Thin, chocolaty-sweet finish. Much thanks to CaptainCougar for hauling this one down from Georgia!

Bottle thanks to Anette from DØ. A almost black beer with a big beige head. The aroma is light roasted and of chocolate and green apples, so is the taste. Medium body with a dry finish.

DFW Tasting 6/8/08 Thanks to Bu11zeye for sharing! Aroma is Light Chocolate and flavor is off chocolate. This beer did not impress me very much. I really didn’t like it. Cheers!

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. Has a slightly fruity malty chocolate aroma with some hints of vanilla. Sweetish malty fruity chocolate flavor. Has a warming fruity chocolate finish with some hints of vanilla in the aftertaste.
