Possibly my bottle was too old? Explosively carbonated. Huge foamy dark tan head. Dark brown body. Nose of a little chocolate, a little malt, and sourness. Did this have an accidental secondary Brett fermentation? Sometimes that’s a great thing, but not today. An interesting sour chocolate stout, but, by now there are a dozen or more chocolate stouts that I prefer.

Pours a dark chestnut brown color with a half finger beige head that quickly settles into a thin ring. Sporadic spotty lacing left behind. Slightly roasted, sweet chocolate malt aroma with hints of cocoa, oatmeal and a subtle lactose sugar presence. There’s also an odd slightly herbal character that I can’t really pin down but the nose smells a lot like tootsie rolls. Light bodied and slightly watered down with sweet cocoa and a faint lactose presence. Kind of bland with slight roast and grassy, herbal hops. Not very interesting with a really weird combination of flavors. Like an herbal, slightly hoppy chocolate beer. Really thin for the style without much oatmeal or stout character.

Sample at SBWF 2015. Smell of chocolate and oranges. Similar taste. Like drinking liquid "romerska bågar" or orange chocolate.

Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2015. Clear amber, no head. Chocolate aroma, licorice cocoa notes. Roasted chocolate flavor, cocoa, licorice. Kinda one dimensional.

Poured from a tap. Dark brown color, short lived medium tan head. Strong metallic aroma. Medium body with a sweet cherry flavor and a mild malt accent and a medium finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Farbe schwarz. Geruch säuerlich, alkoholisch mit leichten Röstanteilen. Im Geschmack dann röstig, leicht säuerlich. Ein bisschen schokoladig. Leider fehlt Mundschwere.

Geruch seltsam: süßlich und ein bisschen wie Brause. Geschmack relativ alkoholischen, aber auch nach Schokolade und im Nachgang etwas medizinisch, fast ein bisschen wie Campari. Interessant.

750ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Chocolately aroma, slightly leafy, nuttily, some cocoa, a tobacco touch. All flavours are almost identically reproduced in taste. Not flattering, not boring - nice.

Keg @ The Birch. Deep brown with a thick tan head. Nose of strong dark chocolate. Leaf pile. Wood. Cinnamon. Plenty of earth. Taste is interesting. Sort of just off choclolate, interesting. Earthy and dry with a creamy finish. Full and fat. Mellow botanicals. Fun.
