Brune foncée, col beige disparaissant vite.
Arôme est somptueux avec ces graines de caroube prenant le dessus de façon très agréable, note de malt grillé/café avec une pointe d’épice et profile choco.
En bouche, cacao/caroube bien présent accompagné d’un profile épais d’avoine donnant un léger profile grain/épicé. Palais est huileux avec ce fini de caroube allant vers un léger réglisse. Le tout est sec sur des notes de café avec un fini léger de houblon en amertume.
Un régal.

Aroma mild medium intense. Fairly soft, hint of wheat. Bit tart with some chocolate.
Appearance
Top: tanned creamy mid cap.
Base: brown.
Palate : soft smooth , good drinkability. Medium bodied. Average finish.
Taste: very low hop profile. Caramel malts , slight tartness.
Other notes: Mild, drinkable ale. Some chocolate with paired vanilla.

Color marrone scuro lievemente torbido con pannosa schiuma beige. Dolciastra, profumata, speziata, leggermente cioccolatosa; gusto vellutato, note di frutta sciroppata, caramello, erbe aromatiche e un tocco legnoso. Corpo medio, effervescenza quasi nulla, struttura oleosa. Particolare, ma non mi ha fatto impazzire.

Tap. Pours deep, dark brown with thick, creamy off-white head; good retention and lacing. Aroma is roast, lavender, pepper, grassy hops, coffee, plums, and light funk. Flavor is dry malts, dark fruit esters, and grassy hops with spice and floral notes; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

Tap at Max’s Taphouse. Pours clear dark brown to black with ruby highlights, a large creamy tan head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is nutty, cookie, and toast malt with fruity esters and chocolate notes. Flavor is malt dominant with chocolate and spices, dates, chestnut and a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Pours an almost black shade of red, no head. Smells like chocolate and alcohol. Spicy sweet chocolate. Smooth and almost creamy, with toffee notes and a hint of coffee. Slight fruit notes in the finish.

Bottle 75 cl from erzbierschof.ch. Dark brown with moccha head. Aromas of chocolate, erthy, espresso, licorice. The taste is mild, with hints of praline, vanilla, cacao, black cherry, chestnut, raisin and molasses. The mouth is creamy, smooth, round, délicious. To sip.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2013 Bottle @ eataly bologna. Tiny head on top, it pours dark. Taste: chocolate, liquorice and coffee but with a good bitterness at the same time. Great beer.
