COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pours an amber/colormwith aroma of spiced fresh cut grass.. Taste is simple and like fresh cut grass on a hot sunny day. Overall a decent beer for the style...

Pizzeria Paradiso, Georgetown tap (sampler): Pours a light brownish color with a small head. Aroma is rather interesting, and for me, was difficult to pin down. There were definitely nuts, plenty of sugar, some unique yeast notes. It was like a Belgian Strong in some sense, but in others very cleary not. Some wood was also present. Taste is slightly sweet. Woody with plenty of fruit. Quite nice.

In short: Caramelized roasted nuts in a bottle. Decent beer
How: From a bottle at Mondial De La Bière 2012
The look: Clear copper body topped by a tiny beige ring of foam
In long: Nose is roasted nuts, a bit of caramel and some phenols. Taste is like drinking caramelized roasted nuts. Very crunchy/husky maltiness sensation. There is also a spiciness sensation. Some wooden notes. Carbonation is a lot of small hard bubbles that made it hard to keep it the mouth, I think this beer could be really nice with softer bubbles. My last beer at Mondial 2012 festival, I had so much to drink during this week of Mondial+pubs festivities that when the week was over I thought that maybe not drinking beer for a few days could do me some good, but I guess we’ll never know.

Poured a clear amber color with no visible bubble... still in fact. Aromas were sweet vanilla, winey, nutty and boozy. Taste was alot of the same rich mouthfeel with a bit cloying but a perfect dessert beer. Really getting the fortified madierized merlot barrel. Very complex not something id want a pint of but rather a small snifter after a light meal.

Wood clad barrel pour at Churchkey. Poured a dark amber color, slightly off-white head, plenty of lacing. Aroma was notes of malt, with a touch of hazelnut. Touch of sour notes, with some sweet malts. Interesting brew.

Draft at the Birch. A reddish-brown beer with no head whatsoever. The initial impression borders on the sour region, but ends up being somehow sugary yet not very sweet. With little to no carbonation it is easy to drink and non-filling. Mellow drinker. (#4694, 7/14/2012)

Bottle 500 ml ?
Aroma sweet malty notes, sugary hints. Mild alcohol that blend in nicely.
Appearance pours as clear red accented amber. Thin beige top. 3+
Flavor and Palate : medium full bodied. Overly sweet, cloying. Mid late not of carbonation. Late warmth of alcohol.

Notes from my iPhone. On tap @ Purple Pig. Slightly hazy golden amber with a very wispy fine head. Aroma is of sweet cereal, lightly spicy, and with more of a buckwheat aroma than anything nutty. Creamy soft mouthfeel, flavours of dates, light spice, vague fruit (quince maybe?). Again, nothing distinctly nutty, but a pleasant ale nonetheless.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Reddish brown with a small white head. Nose is fruity and nutty, some spice (nutmeg?), cranberry, wood. Flavor is sweeter than the nose suggests, maple syrup, cinnamon, toasty malts. Medium bodied, a little sticky on the tongue.
