Bottle. Pours a mahogany body with an off white head. Grape, and licorice flavor with a note of plum and a chewy nutty character. A hint spicy with toffee and grape. Really nice!

Bottle from GBBF 09. Hazy copper with a small head. Refined nutty caramel aroma. Sweet tastes that give way to nutty flavours, ending semi-sweet. Some spiciness. Not at all bad.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Late June/Early July 2008: Strada S. Felice has a stong, fragrant chesnut aroma that also has a sour, fruity alt edge to it. The beer is the color of honey as is the foamy head that slowly dissipates. There is some sediment in the beer as well. It tastes toasty and nutty. There is also tart fruitiness in the flavor. This beer is stong and malty with a balanced bitterness and a slightly dry finish. It has a medium body and is smooth despite the high amount of carbonation. This beer isnít too bad; I like the uniqueness of the chesnuts.

More from Vegas and thanks to Khoryís for getting this in an hour before I arrived at the store!
What is with this Unibroue glass? Every time I pour a beer in it half the glass fills with foam! Hazy chestnut colour, huge tan bubbly head, ok dissipating ropy lacing. The aroma is nutty with some interesting herbal qualities, mild fruity candy, some odd perfume, caramel, hints of alcohol, something spicy like a gingerbread I think, I dunno. The taste is pretty interesting and what is odd is that the first thing I noticed is the chestnuts but not until mid to end of the sip. Touch of medicinal to it, sourness, lots of malts, some alcohol on the finish, something funky in no particular order cause Iím sauced. Finished with too much alcohol and I wish it was hidden more. Oily mouth feel. 8% hit hard today for some reason. Iíve pretty much forgotten about this beer already. Nothing special. Horribly overpriced. Save your money unless you are a review whore or share the cost with some one else. Iím going to go play some NHL07 and eat popcorn now

bottle thanks to markus. Pours hazy amber, smallish head. Aroma of chesnutts, malt, sugar, crystal malt? Flavor of sweet malt, chesnuts, dried fruits. Palate is smooth, medium mouthfeel. I liked this beer. Surprising.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a cloudy dark amber, with a big, foamy, light brown head. Smells of dark caramel malt, chestnut, and a hint of soe funk as well. I really dug his flavor, thought it was quite interesting. Definitely got the big chestnut factor in it, as well as caramel malt, various other spices, and a hint of tartness, but not too much. Finished lightly sweet, with some candy sugar and caramel left on the tongue. i think this is an underrated brew, quite flavorful and interesting.

Long, foamy head.
Aroma: Rye, alcahol, caramel.
Flavor: Malt, dry fruits, rye, alcahol, spice.
There is a certain complexity to this brew and I am not sure if I like it or not.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
farmflavors of aged broken egg, wood and other funky flavor and aromas mixed with a nutty slightly sweet toffee in alcohol. greasy and citrus balanced it is also a bit spicy in a different but balanced way with anise type licorice or probably just light rye or caraway seed in fresh forest green. tricky and demonstrative it is good for that reason and little else. touch of bitter that is unfinished and dryish.eehhh

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Stemware sampler at local beer seminar. Poured a cloudy, deep orange/amber color, with an off white, small-ring head, and minimal lacing. The aroma was nuts and hard wood. The flavor strayed from the aroma to expose some earthy, barnyard and hay notes. Unusual, to say the least, but somewhat in keepng with the SHV style.
