COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

750 mL bottle. Cloudy brown pour with no head. Aroma of caramel malt and herbs. Flat taste of lemongrass, caramel and yeast with a lingering finish. Had potential, think the bottle may have been spoiled with zero head.

Bottle: pours a hazy, dark, reddish brown with a thin whispy head that quickly disappears, not sure about the aroma, taste is sweet, a little roasted malt flavor, not bad.

Un assaggio ai Troeggi, sarà che a me queste birre alle castagne non convincono, ma non mi è piaciuta

Bottle pour. Pours a clear amber with a thin dissipating white head. Smells of fruit, red, semi dried; caramel, malt, yeast. Tastes rather alcohol rich, sweet, with an lingering bitterness. Medium bodied, medium active carbonation, oily texture. Finishes dry with a lingering bitterness. Its tasty.

bottle thanks to markus. Pours hazy amber, smallish head. Aroma of chesnutts, malt, sugar, crystal malt? Flavor of sweet malt, chesnuts, dried fruits. Palate is smooth, medium mouthfeel. I liked this beer. Surprising.

Amber. Long, foamy head. Aroma: Rye, alcahol, caramel. Flavor: Malt, dry fruits, rye, alcahol, spice. Dry finish. There is a certain complexity to this brew and I am not sure if I like it or not. For a nation better known for its wine, Italy is starting to be known for some of the best beers near the equater. From one who has been there: Viva Napoli for what you can do.

Bottle and label design looked so imposing I left it on the mantlepiece for six months until it went past its sell-by date. 3 months overdate, and the beer was as impressive as the packaging. Bronze, dark gold colour, packed with flavours. I couldn’t place the flavour but now seeing in the description, I can pick out the word ’castagne’ which explains a lot. An impeccable wealth of balanced flavours and aromas, I can only think this is a highly skilled brewer. The highlight of my week, and it’s been quite an entertaining week. Credit to Lorenzo for this one!

This is the only Grado Plato since I first tried chocarrubica around Thanksgiving time. Poured, or rather exploded out of the bottle with a thick head that stayed only shortly, revealing a very nice dark amber colored brew. Subtle yet pleasent aroma, ever so slight alcohol smell because of the 8% abv. Nice heavy malt flavor, very nutty from the chestnuts but also has somewhat of a roasted/slightly burnt hazelnut taste as well. Very good, I’d definitely pick this up again.
