COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

[Bottled] Hazy amber, rich lively head. Fruity citric nose. Bready with notes of butterscotch and nuts. Medium sweet, very malty and somewhat syrupy. Dominated by a rye bread flavour that I believe is derived from the chestnuts. Just some late bitterness. Interesting!

Red-amber beer with small transparant head. Toffee, caramel, plywood, and a few phenols in the nose. Leafy, shrubbery flavours, sweet and full bodied, obviously influenced by the chestnuts. Slick, nearly viscous, warming sensations. Good strong ale, chestnuts help without imposing themselves; a bit pity about the nose.

Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of doughy, lightly sweet toasty Belgian malt and some earthy spices and nuttiness. Body starts semi-sweet and effervescent with some chestnut flavor and mildly earthy hops toward a drier finish. A nicely balanced and unique chestnut flavored brew.

Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured clear brown color with a large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted nutty malt aroma. Medium to full body, sticky texture and thin particles. Medium sweet spicy flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Balanced drinkable beer that I shared with freinds.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Clear dark copper with a small, fading head. Nutty aroma of caramel and some alcohol, dried fruit. Flavor is caramely-nutty-malty with low bitterness and some dried fruitiness. Medium to full body, lowish carbonation. Nicely balanced and smooth brew, feels like an ale.

Bottle. Reddish brown beer with a light head. The aroma is fruity and mildly sour, and the flavour is yeasty, bitter and quite rich. Overall a reasonable beer,

Appearance: Pours a medium amber-brown body with a fizzy, off-white head. Smell: Caramel maltiness and sun-dried fruits with the scent of chestnuts tucked away in the background. Taste: Caramel malts and sugar-coated nuts. Fairly fruity. The chestnut character is present, but is never overbearing. Earthy bitterness. Finishes dry. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Drinkability: How about that snazzy bottle, huh? Oh, the beer? Well, it’s okay.

Pours reddish amber into a shaker. Fluffy tan head with good retention leaves spot lacing as it slowly recedes. Sour caramel aromas. Sharp and sour from front to back. Becomes unpleasant as it warms.
