Bottle. Pours hazy mahogany with large beige head. The aroma is sweet caramel with a distinct nuttiness and a few acidic fruit notes. The flavor is, well, chestnut, with a caramel sweetness behind it. There’s a bit of a leafy hop bitterness around, too. The finish is tree fruit and light caramel. Kind of predictable, but decent.

Late June/Early July 2008: Strada S. Felice has a stong, fragrant chesnut aroma that also has a sour, fruity alt edge to it. The beer is the color of honey as is the foamy head that slowly dissipates. There is some sediment in the beer as well. It tastes toasty and nutty. There is also tart fruitiness in the flavor. This beer is stong and malty with a balanced bitterness and a slightly dry finish. It has a medium body and is smooth despite the high amount of carbonation. This beer isn’t too bad; I like the uniqueness of the chesnuts.

Draught at Churchkey. Walnut colored pour. Nose and flavor are marked with present but uninteresting chestnut, sweet spice, caramel, and plum-like dark fruit. Not bad, but ehhh not exciting.
