500 ml plastic bottle provided and shared by larsga, thanks. A thin greyish head over a reddish amber body. Sweet malts and toffe dominates the aroma. Scents of roast. Strong and sweet caramellish malt taste. Burnt sugar and roast underneath. Healthy body. Light sticky texture. Mild bitterness towards the finish. Unusual, but goes well down.

Little plastic bottle. Amber-brown color. Malty aroma. Full taste of caramel malts. Little bit strong for hot summer.

2l-PET bottle. Clear brown colour with an amber glow and a fluffy off-white head. Lovely aroma of chocolate and dark malts. Full-bodied, hopy, with a dry mouthfeel and pleasant flavours of liquorice, chocolate, caramel and roasetd malts. Slightly hoppy. Despite its high ABV the alcohol appears only in a warming shadow. Quite nice!

PET bottle 0,5 ltr, alc. 6,3 %
Bottle bought from random grocery shop in Romania. Dark ruby red color, good creamy beige head, lace. Light papery aroma. Some caramel, light licorice, strong metallic flavor. Aftertaste is a bit sweet. Not too bad for being PET-bottled Romanian.

PET bottle shared by TBone. Deep rubyish amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is bready malts, caramel and some mild hops. Flavour is caramel, hops, dry wood and some mild licorice in the finish. Rather pleasant!

Bottle. 50cl PET, shared by larsga. It pours a blood-reddish black body, or maybe it’s just copper ;-), anyway, it’s topped by a small, beige head. The aroma has toffee, some grains and alcohol. There’s toffee in the flavor too, some roasted malt, as well as a touch of fruits and alcohol. Medium boudy. Wee touch of alcohol in the finish as well as an even weaker burnt note, and toffee. Drinkable, but far from a great brew. (080216)

Pet bottle provided by larsga. Murky red beer. Sweet toffee and then some metallic bitterness. Oxidized? Hard to know how this is when fresh.

larsga (4684) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 17, 2008
UPDATED: FEB 20, 2008 Medium offwhite head. Dark red body. Roasty toffee and caramel aroma with syrupy, grassy notes. Dryish-sweetish roasty caramelly grainy taste with papery rubbery notes. Decent, but not really good. (0.5l PET bottle bought outside Bran castle, Romania.)

omhper (15964) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 15, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2007 Bottled- PET. Clear ruby, small head. Fruity coffee aroma. Medium sweet with clean mouthfeel and solid body. Quite potent with concentrated roasty malt character. Some dusty bitterness. Rough around the edges, but still a welcome break with the stream of pale lagers in Romania.

Near black beer with faint burgundy shine and small, irregular dirty yellow head. Some mineral, chocolate and toasted malts. Because I want to find something, it smells hardly more than still water. Slightly wry, woody taste, walnut(peel); yet with some typical malt sweetness, getting more sugary. Yet there’s evidence of t/roasted malts every new sip. As from human sweat. Really. Medium bodied, certain oilyness. They’re doing things with these plastic bottles. Looks like a 25cl, and a half litre glass couldn’t hold it all. As to the beer, they rid themselves of the Genius of the Carpates, now they’ve got the genie of Commerce. From Vlad the Impaler over Ceaucescu to GW Bush. Poor country.
