Rating #391, can from Lidl

Well, this is actually not as bad as I expected for a beer from Lidl, especially bacuse I have heard so much bad about the Grafenwalder brand. My friend told me that the local old bum in the bus stop, who by the way was used to drink sunwarmed Harboe Bjørnebryg, actually spitted it out and called it dogpiss. That was the pilsner, though.

This is a pale hay-coloured beer with a thick creamlike head. Aroma is quite standard hefe and pretty obvious. Hay, straw and a good bunch of banana. Taste is newly harvested corn field with notes of citrus and banana, thereopun comes some rubber and something that reminds me of fiberglass. Soft beer, medium body. Quite good to price; I would by it as a cheap refresher on a summerday instead of the standard watery pilsener piss people usually buy.

Can. Cloudy golden colour, rather small white head. Wheaty grassy bit banana and butter aroma. Thin mouthfeel. Not so much wheat in the flavour, grainy, bit sweet, some yeast, mild short bitterness, bit dry. Simple and thin. "Weissbier genuss"...ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.........

It’s unclear golden with a huge, creamy and white head. Initially it has a rather strong note of butter in both aroma and flavour, but as it gets warmer it almost disappears. The notes are the same in aroma and the sweet flavour, banana, wheat and light yeast, and the finish is slightly dry. It’s weak and not at all worth remembering.

0.5 l can. Hazy yellow colour, with a nice rocky/compact head, carbonation is lively. Flat-liked citrus fruity and yeasty nose, the taste is sweet and citrus flavoured. Citrus-hoppy and grainy aroma, the finish is bitter and dry. The body’s medium, texture is light sticky. Aside from that flat fruity aroma, a good drinkable Hw, especially for its cheap price.

Can at home. Pours a cloudy golden color with a creamy white head that leaves some lacing. Faint fruity aroma with hints of banana and some sweet perfume. Watery and slightly corny flavor that is moderately sweet, but not very outspoken. It does have a great smooth creamy texture however. Quite enjoyable and refreshing, definitely nice for such a low price.
