Can from Lidl. Pours clear, very light yellow-gold with a fading, white head. Grain and mild metal in the nose, some mild flowers. Flavor isn’t too bad, lightly sweet with some sugar, dried cereal, faint, floral hops. Light to medium in body with a dense, creamy carbonation I don’t often encounter. Crisp and mostly clean to finish with some pleasant, earthen bitters, coupled with lightly sugary grain and cracker malts. Not altogether bad but a bit bland. The density of the beer, the creaminess seems to mask something. Hmm. Anyway, definitely drinkable.

bierkoning (9822) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - FEB 13, 2003
Frothy head. Hay aroma. Sweetish, bit soapy flavor. I can't taste much hopbitterness, only a tiny bit in the aftertaste. Another bland supermarket pilsener.

Can. Pale yellow coloured. Clear. White fluffy head. Sweet and perfumed in aroma and flavour. Is very light herbal. Thin bodied and watery. Vague bitterness in the end. Easy to drink, but very boring.

canned - clear golden colour; little foam; fat grassy nose and notes of carton; light-bodied with a harsh bitterness; grassy and paperboard-like finish - not good

pivnizub (8576) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - FEB 6, 2014
Bottle: Golden, visible carbonation, clear, big rocky white head, mild sweetish-grainy nose with a - mild as well - "strawy-hoppy" touch; mild to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied, but not watery and pretty soft; shy and dry citrussy and bitter finish. Tame, but better than expected…

500ml can (Lidl) 4.5%
Pale yellow, brief large pale head, looks a bit like fizzy pop. Maybe I got a metallic whiff, but that wasn’t repeatable, after that it’s a vaguely beer-like aroma, but really nothing more than a bit of non-descript corny sweet light malt. Taste is not bad - fairly pilsy hops, and quite soft creamy malt. Leaves a soapy tang on the tongue, alas. For cheap-ass lager, this wasn’t so bad at all - drank it all with no qualms.

maeib (8391) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2011
Canned. A bright yellow lager with some white bubbles. A bog standard simple lager although there are reasonable noble hops in the mouth. Nowt nasty in the aroma, and all said perfectly drinkable.

Can, provided (I think) by SilkTork. Didn’t realise it was a Lidl job at first. Nothing remotely premium, or pils-like for that matter, about this beer. Its just a very dull pale lager. Duller than most, which is really saying something. Horrible thin, metallic mouthfeel.

Clear beer. Aroma of grassy hops and grains. Light malts with very noticeable hops make up the flavor, bitter aftertaste.

Benzai (6402) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - OCT 26, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2013 500ml can @ home. Clear yellow / golden color, small quickly diminishing head. Smell malts and bitter. Taste malts and bitter as well but also a little metallic and earthy. Low carbonation, low body.
