Aug 07 Cask conditioned @ Rook & Gaskill York. Pale. Fruity with a lot of hop aroma tending towards the citrussy. Rounded bitter finish which doesnt ovepower the dry malts. Drinkable/
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 20, 2011
Tasted this at the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in September 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear orange amber in colour with a thin white head. Dry dusty floral hops present in the short aroma. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Pale malt gives a very fruity flavour of lemons, grapefruit, gooseberry and marmalade. Citric flavoured hops compliment the malt well in the dry aftertaste. Finish is slightly hoppy and tart with resins present in the mouth. A decent Golden Ale with body and complexity - far better than some of the golden ale offerings out there. Well recommended.

25th September 2008 On tap somewhere - maybe Market Porter. Low carbonation and dry! Not a favourite combination! Just about enough hop fruit to keep it interesting.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 hughie (3993) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 24, 2009 Cask at Secklow Hundred (JDW), Milton Keynes. Gold with a white head. Sweet hair oil hop aroma. Flavour is flat, dull and not altogether fresh. Too warm. Some bitterness. This JDW is not so good as the other in MK. Suspect this one had been sitting around a bit. 24.9.09 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Faint floral hop aroma. Sweet grainy taste with plenty of citrus. Slight bitterness. Another of those beers that remind me of Roninsons Lemon Barley Water. Rated: 5,3,6,4,11:2.9
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 30, 2008
A Mes rate: cask at Baker Street ’Sporks. Pale golden blonde with a slight white film. Strong wheat and straw in the aroma with some faint hops in the background. The flavour is well balanced malt and hops but the straw notes do not do it any favours. Faint notes of alcohol and honey in the finish. I’m sure this would be pretty decent if served well but sadly most JDW’s are not capable of doing it justice. So so at best.
