Cask conditioned at Far from the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pale gold with white head. There is a thin body which was reasonably crisp, there is a perfumed, flowery hop note. Bready malty background, bitter, dry. Reasonable.

Cask at the Star and Garter, South Wigston. I expected better after being told by the barmaid that it was selling well. Light aroma. No head and heavy lacing. Little real flavour. No aftertaste. It looked and tasted like a pint of Carling! Wouldn't buy again.

Cask, Star & Garter, Wigston. Golden with a firm white foam. Aromas are wheat and cereal with lemon. Leafy and buttery with soft spices and some bready yeast. Flavours are sweet biscuit with caramel and leafy hops. Not a lot going on.

Cask Conditioned Handpump King Billy Northampton. A golden beer with a thickish white head with a shaving foam consistency and lacing. Tropical fruits in the aroma with a similar fruity taste. Light and citrussy but with a low bitterness. It’s drinkable enough though.
