Named after the hardworking neighborhood where the original Grain Belt Brewery established its roots back in 1893. The term ‘Nordeast’ comes from the Northern and Eastern European immigrants and their language which helped shape Northeast Minneapolis. This amber American Lager is our way of honoring the storied past of Grain Belt and the people who helped to make it legendary! Cheers!

A decent local despite the score on here. Has a weird after taste and not a lot of flavor but is usually on tap and is inexpensive.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2013 Bottle, at my dad’s house. Did NOT care for regular Grain Belt as made by Schell’s, but this is the rule-breaker. I notice they’re not declaring so in their description, but this tastes like an all-malt amber. Decent "beer" smell after pouring, no sweet adjuncty notes. Amber colored body under a stiff white head. Drinks easily, and agrees more with the Vienna style (or the historic lagers like Yuengling). The usual plain beer mouthfeel, but again the all-malt brew is apparent and appreciated, although further on there may be a touch of corn or ricew. Hops are not too distinct, probably just the basic Noble varieties lending a bit of a prickle in the back of my mouth.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of cereal malts, lake water, vegetables. Bleh. Medium amber hue with a small white head that left little lace. Flavor is medium sweet. Palate is medium bodied and watery with average carbonation. Overall a below average beer with some odd flavors.

A very nice slightly dark lager - a good step up from traditional Grain Belt (which is not bad). I am partial to local (Minnesota) brews, and am happy to see this available.

Bottle. Smells as it looks, like a copper penny. Nice & fizzy with thin white head. Taste isn’t overly complex, just a nice summer time lager. Could drink this all afternoon at a game or poolside. Standard lager finish - wish I could get this in CA.

Good drinkable beer. Best on tap but found a place with cheap 16oz cans and that seems to do the trick. Usually drink a few of these then move to something with less flavor.

16 ounce can. Pours brownish gold with a decent biege head. Aroma of malt and grain. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, grain, and just a touch of hops. Mild and sweet. Drinkable.

Thanks to swalden28 for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a yellow-orange color with a white head. The aroma doesn’t have much going on other than a heavy dose of grain and sweet malt. The flavor is very similar, with grain and a little bit of fruit, which I can’t really identify. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Fairly straightforward and not offensive, but something I cared too much for.
