Named after the hardworking neighborhood where the original Grain Belt Brewery established its roots back in 1893. The term ‘Nordeast’ comes from the Northern and Eastern European immigrants and their language which helped shape Northeast Minneapolis. This amber American Lager is our way of honoring the storied past of Grain Belt and the people who helped to make it legendary! Cheers!

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2013 Bottle, at my dad’s house. Did NOT care for regular Grain Belt as made by Schell’s, but this is the rule-breaker. I notice they’re not declaring so in their description, but this tastes like an all-malt amber. Decent "beer" smell after pouring, no sweet adjuncty notes. Amber colored body under a stiff white head. Drinks easily, and agrees more with the Vienna style (or the historic lagers like Yuengling). The usual plain beer mouthfeel, but again the all-malt brew is apparent and appreciated, although further on there may be a touch of corn or ricew. Hops are not too distinct, probably just the basic Noble varieties lending a bit of a prickle in the back of my mouth.

Bottle as pictured. Donated by a goodhearted soul from work. What a mess. Corn and skunk turned a nice gold. no head or lacing. wavering yuck body. Nice bottle cap.

16 Oz. Can. Pours clear light amber with a thin head and some lacing on the glass. Aroma is malts and corn. Taste is pretty much every the same; watered down corn and some malts, quite sweet. Had to try it, now I did and chances are I will drink it again... But certainly not the greatest.

12oz bottle pours a clear orange/Amber with a large off-white head. Bready caramel and toffee aroma. Watered down caramel malt with some grain and yeast on the finish. Not horrible, not good either.

Grain Belt Nordeast has a very thick, frothy, spongy, off-white head, a mostly clear, bubbly, gold-amber appearance, with a higher-than-average amount of suspended powdery sediment throughout, and a fairly heavy lacing left behind. Aroma is of sourish, citrus, grain and malt, and the flavor is of those elements, alongside bread crust, white bread, some sweetness, and very low level hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Grain Belt Nordeast finishes crisp and easy drinking. RJT

Keg @ Mimosa, MPLS. Light amber with a small head. Nose of caramel and biscuit. Taste of robust caramel malt. Light grain. Sweet artificial apple. Light body, soft carb. Not a bad cheap option
