COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Local legends aren’t just born, they’re brewed. And no beer in the Midwest has a grander brewing tradition than Grain Belt. For over 100 years, Grain Belt has been the beer that fathers have passed on to sons and friends have passed amongst each other at local bars and watering holes. It is a beer with tradition that spans generations. Which is why it has become legendary–both here and across the country.

In the 1940s, around the same time Grain Belt built its famous bottle cap sign overlooking the Mississippi River in Northeast Minneapolis, they introduced a “Beer of Exceptional Quality”–Premium. With its crisp, unique flavor, Premium quickly became the flagship of the Grain Belt brand. And still is to this day.

Although the Grain Belt Premium recipe has changed hands over the years, one thing has remained the same–its legendary unique taste. And now that Premium is in the capable hands of a brewery with an even longer tradition than Grain Belt–the August Schell Brewery–may you rest assured that the flavor and heritage of Premium will live on forever.

So as a local legendary beer, we raise a glass to all the people, places and things that make the Midwest such a rich and unique place to live. Here’s to you!

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2004 Tastes a little different now that its made in New Ulm. Not quite as good as it used to be, but still a great beer. I still have friends that don't like any other kind of beer but this one. If you're going to drink a low price beer, make it this one!

Whats better the Grain Belt and Hockey here in Minny. Not much. Cold weather and Premo go hand in hand. Quite a Unique flavor for a Lager. All I can say is you gotta try it. Those of you who know of Matt’s Bar and the "Juicy Lucy" know its gotta be consumed with some Grain Belt. Cheers

This was the first beer I ever had. It is a crisp clean beer with a sweet aroma. One of my favorites.

This is a simple beer that has tons of flavor. Especially when you pour it in a glass and get the head going. When going to Minnesota this is a must try. I do get the feeling the people there take it for granted though, but if you live in an area where you cant get it, (because Budcrap has the area held hostage and therfore will not allow other beers to be in the area or they will pull their contract) you will appreciate it all-the-more when you do taste it.

Best Beer in the Midwest by far!!! To bad its not still in the Twin Cities. They need more advertising. I think if they did more of that, then it would be a knowen beer around the U.S

I love, love, love this beer, and I love August Schells for saving the brand. Best working class brew in Minnesota.

This is a good solid working class beer, good malty flavor, a beer you can’t go wrong with if you’re looking for a cheap regional brew. Unfortunately it’s next to impossible to find outside of the Midwest.
