(Bottled) Hazy copper-amber with a small but firm and lacy head. Aroma of toffeeish malt, dried and fresh (dark) fruitiness. Toffee-malty, scotch ale -like flavor with smooth, dark fruitiness and some aromatic hops, but not much bitterness. Alcohol fully hidden. Medium body with soft carbonation. A nice and smooth, very well balanced, scotch ale -style brew. Not the most complex one, but easy to drink.

Bottle at Delirium Café, Brussels. Dark copper with a steady little offwhite head. Quite anonymous malty aroma, but hints of honey detected despite the smoke in the café. Honey in all its complex flavour variations, even providing its own bitterness. Quite likeable.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (6736) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUN 12, 2008
Coca-Cola coloured beer, clear; with a short-lived off-white head, fast gone. Very honeyish nose, honingbollen , nice. True, not much else. Soft honeyish flavour, a bit bready, I’d be tempted to call this a soft German Doppelbock. Dark malts abound, and restsugars. Mineral water quality. Alcohol comes out, slick. Good one. De Bouillon is absolutely bettering its act.
