Blonde. Medium head with a bitter sharpness and a lasting bitter aftertaste. Not a lot of body considering its strength.Have tried better.

A Mes rate. Bottle at LCRBM #5.
Clean dark gold with a thin white head. Grainy (D’orgey) and full of caramel. Faint bitterness and some nutty notes in the finish. Dull but inoffensive.

[9/5/08] Bottle sample during LCRBM at Kulminator in Antwerp. Clear golden. Aroma of yeast, grains and spiciness. Sweet malty flavor, continues yeasty, spicy and fruity and ends on a bitter note.

LCRBM 2009. The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts mild, becomes drier more and more, also fine spicy. Finish is well balanced, a bit moldy, becomes milder again. Not bad!

Bottle 33cl. @ home.
Clear medium orange amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, fruity, nutty notes, light to moderate hoppy, moderate yeasty, overripped fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate acrid - ram bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to light moderate alcoholic. [20090701]

Small to medium, lightly cream-coloured head over foxy orange beer. Vanilla, lightly roasted malts, faint alcohol, leafy and caramel sweets (the bonbons, rather than the boiled sugar). Dusty bitterness, spicy, on sweet, lightly coloured malts background. Sweet molasses finish. Well bodied, slick to nearly syrupy. Alcohol quite present. Sweet, strong, typical French product. I’m still searching for all that “smoked” the commercial description speaks of.
