COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Standard of the Brewery, it was given its name. Grain d’Orge is a blond beer of 8°, top fermented, mashed from 3 strictly selected malts and hop of Flanders. Its yeast gives it an incomparable smoked taste

Probably about a 5 year old bottle at Le Select. Neat golden orange/coppper pour, small off orange head. Very interesting aroma - musty, not barnyard, maybe an earthy hayloft. Some alcohol. Very inviting and way better than I just described it. Taste was surprisingly sweet, with lots of tasty organic like grain (good grain taste, not macro grain like). Sweet alcohol finish. There was a musty old characteristic to this beer that really suited it, and there were a ton of huge yeast chunks on the bottom. A really enjoyable experience and another unexpected old gem from this fantastic wine cellar .

0,75 bottle shared with friends at a French beer tasting. Dark blond colour with a loose, thin head consisting of big bubbles. Aroma of grains and malts. Flavour is alcoholic with the hints of bittercookies in the end. Too bad that it is not well balanced.

Blond-amber body. White creamy/frothy head. Aroma of hops and malts: not very well balanced but still ok. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour; again of malts and some hops. Nice, not great.

Bouteille (Quack-Duck, merci!): Deep golden - the label says copper-coloured - , a bit unclear, stable small off-white head, lacy; a touch of coriander in the grainy-citrussy nose; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, almost full bodied; slightly lingering sweet-honeyish finish with a good dash of coriander in the aftertaste. O.K. ......

Bottled, tnx Ben! Dark amber colour with thick firm white head. Fruity nose. Aroma is fruity with a little sweetness. Flavour is nicely fruity and subdued sweetness with a finishing hoppy touch. Alcohol is supressed the 8% is not dominant. Best French beer I ever had.
