3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 stevoj (915) - Ramstein-Miesenbach, GERMANY - MAR 6, 2013
Good, but not great. Everything is about average on this, no one single feature is outstanding. Sourish aroma of grapes, sourdough. Taste is also mildly sour, dried fruit, butterscotch. Cellaring might be the trick for this beer.
2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 erickok (2282) - Tours, FRANCE - FEB 25, 2013
Very clear brown body with light tan lace. Cellar aromas and rustic malts to go with a nice enough bready yet unfortunately hopless as well. Odd taste, starting fairly rustic, with simple malt base yet a very weird yeast. Especially the aftertaste is strongly negatively influenced by it. Not much bitterness here. I generally like this kind of beers but this one has a strange old, dusty yeast to it that kills the experience, like banana gone bad. No thanks. (33cl bottle from Auchan in Tours)
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 rand (1000) - SWITZERLAND - JAN 12, 2013

Bottle, branded Blonde Cuivree, from Carrefour. Golden colour with nice white head. I’d say it was quite a malty version of Belgian ale, sweet with mild spice character, but could have done with a bit more hop bitterness to balance it out. Some alcohol present. Didn’t get any smokiness from the yeast. Ok, but there’s so many better beers of this style.

21st December 2009 As Blond Cuivree. Clear amber beer, frothy white head. Dry palate, turns a little frothy. Lightly spiced malt with an undertone of marmalade orange. Finishes frothy and dry. Decent enough but lacking and ’wow’ factor. Faint banana on the finish.
