2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sour aroma, weak head, stifling bannana flavor, and foil topped bottle were all troubling components of this ale.

Golden color with a white head. The taste is a sweet, fruity but rather boring body. Standard french blonde. Light dry and slightly alcoholic finish.

Can. I think the lack of overbearing sweetness saved this beer, it was sweet, but not overly so, not much hop flavor, but the alcohol taste made up for it, straw, and malt dominate, but for an 8% beer it was quite alright! Well balanced.

Bought in a 750ml bottle from Auchan, named as "Blonde Cuivrée". Pours dark gold into a chalice, plenty of head, nice and thick and foamy. Aroma is of syrup and hops, with a bit of caramel. Once the head dies down you can smell a bit of a root-beer-pop sugary aroma. Taste is strong and thick syrup, bitter wood finish, almost like licking wood finish. Closer to malt liquor than Bière de Garde.

Blond-amber body. White creamy/frothy head. Aroma of hops and malts: not very well balanced but still ok. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour; again of malts and some hops. Nice, not great.

[Sampled in 2005.] A nice complex beer of french style with notes of spices, alcohol, but also smoothness, yeast, cream, sharpness and straws!

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Medium amber with a white, disappearing, lacy, frothy head. Smells of alcohol, malt, caramel, molasses, raisins and a faint hint of roasted malt. Medium frothy, oily body, tastes of alcohol comes full centre. Followed my malt, nut and syrup. Alcohol is clearly present on the bitter finish.
