My sample was cellared 3 years. Yeasty, light bodied, creamy. Tones of blue cheese. Balanced bitterness.

Slightly winey taste, but very similar to the real belgian ales. Normally French beers are mediocre, but this beer is actually good.

Pretty good French beer. Had it at its namesake resto. Poured with a large, foamy, frothy, textured off white head that lasted all the way through, and lots of lace. Color was a very clear medium amber. Nose was Belgian style, yeasty, malty, spicey. Flavor is like aroma and also big cereal - like rice crispies; sweet up front and bitter in back. Don’t pick up the supposed smoke. Good body and carbonation. Finish is like flavor and boozy. Session for easy sipping.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2003 Golden with good lacework. Some fruitiness in the nose. Well balanced with a suitable amount of alcohol in the palate. Long malty bitter aftertaste

Big spicy nose with a wiff of alcohol in it. Deep gold color, low tight head. Fruity taste, hints of oranges. Complex but well-balanced. Full body. Nice.

Bottled (as Grain dOrge Tradition). Amber colour with mediumsized and quite lasting white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, some sugar, caramel and mild alcoholic sweetness. Flavour is quite much the same along with some mild hops as well as some nextary notes.

Golden colour, loads of fizz, not much head. Sweet smelling. Quite sweet initally, with bitterness afterwards. Like other beligians, its strong. Not what I personally look for in a beer as you couldnt drink too many of them. For just the one though, it’s quite good.
