COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
This well balanced session beer uses Maris Otter Pale Ale malt which gives the beer a light amber colour, malty character, and a dry finish. The hops we use are Kentish Fuggles and Goldings, giving the beer a delicate floral aroma, smooth sweetness, and a resinous spicy note.

Cask gravity at Colchester BF 2011. Mid gold with thin white head. Butter and caramel on aroma. I was fearing diacetyl and although there is some butter it works ok. In fact its a decent session bitter. Some soft bitterness on the finish. Fine. Some decent caramel flavours.

Cask - Kings Head, Norwich. Poured with a lasting, medium sized off-white head atop a clear, dark yellow body. Some lacework to boot. Marmalade aromas, slightly floral. Caramel, yeast, some earth with an orange sweetness coming through on the tongue. Finishes grassy with a fair length to it. A light body & soft palate texture makes this a decent session offering.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 14th October 2010. Amber with a whitish head of foam. Light hop aroma and grassy hop-bitterness in-mouth. Lingering moderate whole-mouth bitterness in finish, and a light textured mouthfeel.

Cask at 27th Luton Beer Festival. Golden with a frothy head. Fruity hop aroma, hints of green apples. Sharp fruity bitterness. Very dry finish.

A spicy and lightly vinegary nose. In the mouth come big savoury wood flavours. I think this could be off actaully cidery and full of mulling spice flavours.

[500ml bottle-conditioned from Larners, Holt, Norfolk] Pours pale amber-orange with a large, frothy white head. Overly fizzy. Sweet, fresh fruity aroma. Taste is strangely different to the aroma - a biscuitty malt with a slightly spicy, bitter finish. Quite bland actually, and the fizziness was annoying.

Cask at Luton BF ’09. Gold with a small white head. Strong fruit aroma: mandarin orange and blackcurrant. Rather lovely effect as sweet maltiness developed. Grainy malt taste and a mid bitter finish. While there are a lot of good things here, the final result didn’t quite work for me. Not sure why.
