Fruity aroma. Brown body thin top but steady lacing. I like more malt myself and this has malt foregrounded but with hops lingering on the palate for the "balanced" effect. A session bitter in my view which makes me wonder at past days when a session was 5 or more. But that’s age for you - the folly of youth or frailty of age who knows?

Pours just like an iced tea from a bottle. Smell is grainy turpentine. Taste is a very subtle caramel with a lightly bitter finish at the end.

Cask at the Townhouse, Ely. Amber, clear, wonderful white head and a fair bit of lacing. Vinous smell. Cedar, turpentine, currants, a hint of tobacco. Taste is sweet, smooth and fruity. Surprisingly complex, deftly turning bitter on the tongue mid-sip. Intense yet balanced aftertaste. Moreish. This excellent real ale brewery have done it again.
