COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
A colloquial term for session beer, Cooking is a smooth, full flavoured golden bitter which drinks better than its gravity, with a bitter-sweet balance and drinkability, so essential in a true session beer.

Amber with a short head. Very flowery scent. Thin with a slight fizz. Hoppy with a somewhat bitter, dry finish. Rather lacking in taste.

maeib (6637) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JUN 21, 2008
Cask conditioned - handpump - JDW, Northampton. A golden coloured beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweetish and has banana notes. The taste is again quite estery just like the Grainstore beer I had before this one. Not sure if this was the intention with the pair of them or what, but they failed to live up to the quality of most Grainstore beers.

hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2008
Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford, in Wetherspoons Real Ale festival, though not included in the official lists. Gold with a small white head. Faint aroma, possibly malty. Slight citric taste with some background biscuit. Som bitterness. Rather ordinary. Won some award a few years ago. Don’t know why.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Nottingham Beer Festival.
Pale golden brown. Hops and malt and tea. Not even close to exciting. Blah.

DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - AUG 15, 2007
UPDATED: OCT 17, 2008 Clear ruddy amber. Black Sheep chalk and heady autumnal fruit. Sweetly malty digestive biscuit afters lingering long after the swallow. Tasty, unfussy bitter. (Re-rate, cask, Knickersby ’Spoons) Robust, clean freshbread maltiness that clings to the palate. Light peardroppy fruit, tea and crackerbread. Solid background bittering hop, silky alkalinity, slight disinfectant note. Otherwise, really decent.

Amber color. Light malt aroma, with very light hop and fruits. Weak structure (it’s not a strong beer), but anyway with some malt, caramel and a very strong bitterness, also very long.
