Cask @ CAMRA NWAF ’14. Pours a dark ruby brown. Scent of mulled spice and savoury herbs. Malty sweet taste, heavy on the herbiness. Not great, started out ok but got very sickly very quickly.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2013 At Rutland Beer Festival ... Appearance of coca-cola (minus the gas). Very toffee smell (lovely!) warm orange and toffee taste. No bitterness (unlike at spoons last time I tried.) Much better

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at the Rupert Brooke, Rugby, 17/04/13.
Mahogony brown with a good sized beige head that retains well. Good lacing ensues.
Nose is dark malt, very light roast, toffee, touch of smoke.
Taste is malt forward, dark toffee fudge, sugars, mineral notes, barley, dark fruits, biscuit.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation, smooth and plesant on the palate.
Decent enough fayre, but coming over as more of an ESB to me than a stout.
