3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask @ Wetherspoons, MK. Tan/golden with a decent creamy head. Sulphurous and woody notes in the aroma. Taste starts a bit sweet then descends into sulphurous bitter. Bitter slightly acrid aftertaste, but there’s a really lively chestnutty taste in there. Not really my thing, but a cut above most ’Burton-y’ bitters. A good balance and decent flavour for its ABV.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at GBBF 2012. Amber bitter, malty hoppy aroma. Reminds me of my dad’s old bottles of Ruddles of Rutland, before that got moved elsewhere. An old fashioned English bitter, nothing fancy but drinkable with a good hop smack in the finish.
