Cask, wetherspoon’s Hammersmith. Lovelyfull aroma from the first sip. Round malty body, flowery hops merged smoothly into the brew. Long lasting bitter and warming finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear orange headless pour. Orange rind, dried leaves and old earth aroma. Continuing dryness on the palate. Pretty simple toasted malts immediately evolving towards bittering finish with little aromas. Slightly astringent, but balanced for what it is.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask @ Bruxellensis. Going back to the fest tomorrow, might have to try this in a pint mug instead of the cute little taster that hardly does a quaffer justice. Looks like stewed tea with a few white bubbles. Faint, leathery aroma. Mild bitterness with subtle malts, some dust, and faint fruity notes. Interesting yet smooth and glug-gluggable.

As the Cooking, but more so. Earthy, sweet, bitter and fruity. Pungent hop bitterness, biscuity malt and apple-accented fruit. Decent bitter.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Swan & Rushes - Leicester. A dark copper coloured beer. The aroma has a hoppy marmalade character but also some sweetness and some nuts. The taste is full and flavoursome. Hops again, but there’s also a sweet hint. Quite complex really.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask handpull at Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Deep copper colour, thin bubbly beige head. Good fruity malt aroma. Red fruit and toffee in mouth, earthy hop finish with residual juicy fruit sweetness. Hops on nose and finish. Impressed with this, I like the sweet malt and slightly peppery hop finish
